Vu, as well as the mentorship of College of Charleston professor Tom_Chorlton helped him to find community in Charleston. He describes the 'transition' from identifying as bisexual in high school to fully accepting that he was gay in college, and the importance of LGBTQ gathering places in the greater Charleston area.
